This small (13-14 cm. long), skulking passerine bird is typically found in wet lowland grassland, open woodland, scrub and sometimes gardens. These warblers have short rounded wings, a longish tail, strong legs and a short black bill. In breeding plumage, adults are grey-brown above, with a short white supercilium and rufous fringes on the closed wings. Underparts are whitish-buff. The sexes are identical.

The Plain Prinia, or Wren-Warbler is a small warbler in the cisticola family. It is a resident breeder from Pakistan and India to south China and southeast Asia. Similar to a shot uploaded earlier. Also called the Brown Wren Warbler, Plain Wren-Warbler, Plain-colored Prinia, Tawny Prinia and Tawny Wren Warbler. These 13-14 cm long warblers have short rounded wings, a longish tail, strong legs and a short black bill. Was lucky to get some good shots of this rather friendly bird. They are not easy to capture as they are pretty active. These small warblers are also called the White-browed Prinia.

My first shot of this warbler in the cisticola family. A very co-operative subject that posed well. The setting was a well maintained garden. This passerine bird is typically found in wet lowland grassland, open woodland and often in gardens. Seen in pairs or even small groups moving about in low growth. They have a jerky, low flight and are difficult to spot in the bush. These 13-14 cm long warblers build their nests in shrubs or tall grass and lay 3-6 eggs. Like most warblers, the Plain Prinia is insectivorous. The song is a repetitive tlee-tlee-tlee and they also make a krrik...krrik sound.
