It hasn't lost any of its strength over the past 46 years, and Rogers ended up responding to his own context with the Leadenhall Building across the street in 2014.

Yes, these staircases *are* just as atmospheric as one anticipates.
Well detailed, well built, well lit (I could have done without the artificial light), and a welcome change to the otherwise white exhibition spaces of the museum.

It seems that I haven't uploaded anything here in forever.....time to rectify that.

It is part of a larger complex which also includes a two-level retirement home, St. Hildegardis. I was surprised to learn that it no longer functions as such, but now houses refugees from Ukraine, which meant that we weren't allowed inside. That is unfortunate, as there are some great spaces--especially a very sculptural ramp out of bricks and concrete. I hope that they will be preserved, as the structure is currently being renovated, but I couldn't tell to which extent.

I worked on an (unbuilt) addition to the structure back in the 90's and the clients back then wanted that ramp taken out in order to make more room for the dining area.

The security guard wouldn't let us in and simply couldn't understand 'why people came by on a daily basis and wanted to take pictures?'

I'll include some exterior images..hopefully sooner than later.

Usually, I am pretty sure which version I prefer--color or b&w. Here, I was unsure, but initially went with black and white. In retrospect.....? So here is the alternative, which also makes me happy.

As seen from near Gimmelwald in some very beautiful evening light. Actually, the peak of Jungfrau isn't visible from here...it continues on much further.

It rained right after this, and dozens of very powerful waterfalls developed on the face of the rock. One could see the water-masses start at the top and slowly make their way down the mountain. An amazing transformation.
