The spring was pretty amazing! The water is such a dazzling color and it’s so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom. Very large fish were swimming in it, as well (can you spot the one in this video?). There is a raft you can go on to see the spring better but we were running on limited time (and it was pretty crowded), so we’re hoping to go back someday to experience that.

The park is home to Michigan's largest freshwater spring, Kitch-iti-kipi (aka “The Big Spring”). More than 10,000 gallons of water per minute gushes through fissures in the underlying limestone at a constant 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

They have 3 viewing platforms for the falls and they all had great views! This was taken from the upper platform.

We’ve lost track of how many waterfalls we’ve seen but could never tire of them. They’re all unique and something about them is so relaxing.

At 100 feet, this slide waterfall was quite the site. It’s been pretty dry the last few months, so I can imagine it’s even more impressive after the snow melts in the spring.

The hike to the falls is 1/2 mile through the forest. It was peaceful, with leaves falling around us the entire time. Combined with the smell of autumn, it was a great tonic!

We haven’t been able to travel much this year due to several things, but taking day trips like this has helped keep our wanderlust satisfied.

The road leading into the scenic area was very pretty!
