We adopted Hazel today from the Milwaukee Humane Society, the same shelter that we adopted Rowan from! She's about 4 years old and is a very sweet, beautiful girl. Sophie seems to be very happy to have a new sister so far!

The newest addition to our family, as of yesterday! We adopted Hazel from the Milwaukee Humane Society, a beautiful shelter where we adopted Rowan from (they adopted out 10,500 animals through their 3 facilities last year!). She was part of a TNR program and when they tried to release her back outside after being spayed, etc., she wanted no part of it (which is why part of her ear is missing- they notch them like that to tell who they fixed)! So, they decided to adopt her out and it's a good thing because she's such a lover. All she wants is for us to pet her. She purrs constantly while kneading and rubbing against us. Such a sweetie! For this week she's staying in one of our extra bedrooms but has met Emma & Rowan so far, as well as Sophie (but from a distance). She's very comfortable with them already and Sophie is quite curious about her. She seems to have Sophie's temperament, so we think they'll get along wonderfully. They estimated her to be about 4 years old and other than being a bit overweight, she's in very good health.

Hazel is quite comfortable in the house already (other than a few moments when she gets unsure, like here) and Sophie is tolerating her very well. There has only been a little bit of hissing from Sophie but they haven't fought at all. So far, so good!

Everyone has adjusted so well to Hazel being here already that it's like she's been part of our family forever! She's been head butting everyone, including the pups and Sophie. She and Sophie are getting along very well now. She's such a sweet girl!

They started sleeping on this chair together yesterday, just 4 days after we brought Hazel home! Hazel has respected that Sophie owns the blanket, though, and stays on the lower part of the chair. They've both been so wonderful with each other!
