For 120 pictures in 2020, #20 "Carved", this is a carved letter opener with a handle in the shape of a turtle. This is in my deficient new studio at our new house - I haven't found my lights or stands yet, so I had to set the black cloth on a patio table outside.

For 120 pictures in 2020 #119 "You don't see that everyday", This mini submarine sits out in front of a souvenir shop on Padre Island, Corpus Christi, TX. I don't know how many decades it has been since this thing was ever operational, but it is a rusted out hulk at the moment. I also have no idea what it was used for.

for 120 pictures in 2020 #8 "Baked goods", these are a couple of blueberry muffins from a local chain grocer (HEB for those who live in Texas). They were actually pretty good for storebought muffins, even though they are not on my diet. In my defense, I am burning a lot of calories unpacking boxes. But unfortunately, I still haven't found my lighting gear, and this setup really needed some fill light.

For 120 pictures in 202, #81 "On the street where you live". This was taken from my front yard at our house in round Rock, TX, before we moved, and is a child's swing in the front yard of my neighbor.

For 120 pictures in 2020 #1, "Start the ball rolling", This is our New Years Day dinner of Red Beans and Rice. While this is a quintessential dish from New Orleans and Southern Louisiana, it is not particularly a New Years Day meal. But our family tradition is to make some sort of stew for Jan 1 (usually chilli or posole), and it was time for this to appear (I grew up in New Orleans). Since we are about to move south to Corpus Christi and the Texas coast, and they have a lot of people who resettled there after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, it seemed fitting.
Red Beans are simply red kidney beans. They have a good flavor, although they take forever to cook. These are flavored with the Holy Trinity of Cajun Cooking (bell pepper, onion, celery, similar to a mirapoix), cayenne, garlic, black pepper, sage, and thyme. Traditionally served over white rice.
I apologize in advance for any lack of response for the next week or so, the movers are coming in the morning, and I will have only intermittant internet access for the next week or so during the move.
