Annular solar eclipse Oct 14, 2023 from Corpus Christi, TX, just at the end of totality. This was the moment where baily's beads appear, which show the sun shining through the mountain valleys at the edge of the moon, but they are somewhat drowned out here by the brightness of the ring.

Annular solar eclipse Oct 14, 2023 from Corpus Christi, TX, at totality. The moon has set the controls for the heart of the sun.

We were very worried about cloud cover, as an overcast was just starting to break apart as the eclipse started, but it finally completely cleared off just before totality.

We watched this total solar eclipse from a ranch in the Texas Hill Country north of Uvalde and west of San Antonio. This was taken right at the start of totality. It looks like it is just the full sun, because the camera exposed mostly for the dark clouds that surrounded it and that blew out the corona. The high thin clouds didn't help either.
