Did you all know I have a free Newsletter? You'll love it... all kinds of great photos and free tips!

This is one of the most famous temples in Kyoto, so of course I had to go. It's sort of like going to the Eiffel Tower in Paris or Rudy's BBQ in Austin.

It was originally built back in 1397 and has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The building itself is as meticulous as the gardens around it. The Japanese really know how to tend a garden! There was a fleet of workers all over the grounds, sweeping up and rearranging little bits here and there. It was all very quaint and wonderful.

The Taj Mahal is an extremely crowded place! People from all over India, which tends to have a lot of people, come visit this mausoleum from every corner of the country. It's right near the northern border of the country, and I know first hand how difficult the journey can be to get to this point.

Just beyond one of the official entrances to the Taj is the interior of a huge gatehouse, that was teaming with people trying to get a closer look. I held the camera high in the air after trying to position myself as centered as possible to try to capture a sense of the huddled masses.

So now I've been using Lucis Pro 6.0 for over a month. I was hesitant to write a review and tutorial before I had processed a multitude of images. I feel like I have gotten the hang of it and figured enough stuff out to make a little tutorial. You can get there by clicking on the Lucis Tutorial here, or you can find it over there in the right column by all the other Tutorials.

In short, even though Lucis Pro is expensive, it will let you do a lot of things that are unique. You can also almost entirely circumnavigate the old HDR flow to create an HDR photo very quickly.

When I started the blog at www.stuckincustoms.com, I never thought I would end up writing so many reviews and tutorials and stuff! I don't think I am particularly good at it, but people seem to get a kick out of it, so I'll keep it up!

This is the latest photo I have processed with Lucis Pro 6.0 -- there are several more samples in the Tutorial.

Outside of the famous Broken Spoke in Austin, Texas, sits this old, dilapidated bus. I don't know how long this thing has been sitting there, but it looks like quite a while. If it wasn't for the rust, I guess you can assume its age from the phone number only having 7 digits. Remember that? 7-digit phone numbers now seem so quaint, like browsers without tabs.

I wonder if this bus still works. I know we have a lot of smart Texas readers who can probably tell us the answer to that little piece of trivia! Under the photo of the bus, I put up the older picture of the Broken Spoke dance hall that was taken about 20 minutes later as the sun was finishing it's daily duties.

It was a busy day in Vegas (is any day here not?). We went all over creation... thank you for all the suggestions here on the blog and in Twitter!

The first shot below is from the recent expansion from the Venetian shopping area. It's really beautiful inside and these designers should be given some kind of award! The best I can do here is try to honor their design with good photo of the place. It's actually quite a difficult venue to capture! I have it from a few angles. There are many other beautiful ones, including one from down below looking up. I'll be sure to include that at some point in the future!

After this, my friend Andrew Mayne (of weirdthings.com/) recommended that we go to see the Mac King Comedy Magic Show. It was a great recommendation! I have pretty high standards (without being a snob), and this guy was just amazing. Ethan even got pulled up on stage to do all kinds of stuff... he was in heaven. After the finale, we went to meet him and I snapped this photo of Mac and Ethan. Anyway, I also recommend the show. It's totally hilarious, family-friendly, and the magic is original and amazing.
