If you are wildlife photographer, the best gear is full frame camera with prime lenses. Taking pictures with a 500mm prime lens is more difficult than a 300mm or shorter lens. The prime lens gives you sharper images with better picture quality than zoom lenses. Remember prime lenses are at least three times more expensive than zoom lens. It is worth it if you have a passion for photography. Even with cat portraits it gives you extra sharpness and details than nonprime lenses. Have a great day!
