My new MOC is a dropship and it has a feature to drop a cargo pod. I've designed this mechanism in LDD but had to build it to make sure it actually works before I design everything else around it. There's four technic beams which move in and out on worm gears and a ton of little gears to join them all to the big knob on top. It's not quite as slick as I'd like, but it kinda works. Does anyone more technic minded have any ideas to make it run smoother?

I’ve been working on this MOC for sometime and he’s a couple of WIP screenshots. This is a sequel to my earlier Rigellian ship, but bigger :-)
It’s inspired by some Rogue One concept art and it’s a dropship, so the four yellow technic beams you see emerging from the bottom can move in and out to grab a cargo pod which extends forward under the cockpit.
You’ll see the smaller wing is really only roughed out but the construction will obviously mirror the big one. It needs a bunch more greebling but the overall structure is pretty much there. The central part is much more advanced and it’s very solidly constructed and should be pretty strong.
If anyone has any comments let me know!
