Another scanned copy of a film image taken way back and recently found in the archives. Quick stop at Bridgeport on good ole Highway 395 before we jumped up and over those mountains via Tioga Pass.
There are some 5 (or 6 depending how you count) passes that can take you up and over the Sierra Mountains, I think the most we ever did was 3 in one day...
This is one of the first images I ever blew up to exhibit and sort of started me down this whole rewarding path of Amateur photography.

Here our Coastal Redwoods grow either from seed or from the sprouting of new trees from their extensive but shallow root system. This new growth will feed off the downed 'parent' redwood. As the original stump disappears in this cycle of growth, sometimes what we have left is a perfect circle of new growth Redwoods...

With only 13 days left before that 4/15 DEADline, I was lucky to find some old, forgotten files. Will be showing some images from the Old Daze when far-flung travel was the norm not the exception.
This here is headed up Hwy 15 towards the high desert of Victorville etc, via a quick stop at Devore Heights.
