Showing a bit more of the Tunnel Farming that is going on just out of town --- in this case we're covering our strawberries (much better than the old poison they used to use ! ).
We've got the winter ground cover crop of alfafa in the background.
You'll see a lot of this Hoop Farming going on, in the past they were shading a lot of Black and Blueberries -- more recently they are sheltering a much more profitable crop ( more to come )

Sad to say I used to work for a company in which that was our Motto --- ( Bike helmets and computer parts if you must know ).

This is strawberry farming in Santa Maria -- although I thought Methyl Bromide injections were no longer legal, possibly a different fumigant ??
