What started as a “small stroll” around Holy Island at Lindisfarne, based on a quick Google Maps search, turned into an almost 5-mile round trip!
It seems this landmark doesn’t attract nearly as many visitors as the pilgrimage routes or the castle – likely due to the longer trek. But trust me, the effort was absolutely worth it.

After a slog of a walk, the landscape felt wild and untamed, with rolling grassy dunes dotted by the remains of the summer flowers resembling trees in miniature; you see on the African savannah. and then, standing tall against this rugged terrain, was the dazzling white Pyramid – in striking contrast to its darker, earthy surroundings.

There really want much info about this landmark, I suspect its a daymark for navigational aid from yesteryear, but that said there was some reward in photographing it, when I expect few have.

To top it all off, we wrapped up the adventure with a few well-earned pints at the Crown and Anchor, waiting for the tide to shift so we could make our way off the island. A perfect end to a days photography.
