Not quite all the years work but over 400 sketches across 9 sketch books. Given the principles I work to it is not surprising that many sketches are... a bit rubbish. Some by good luck have a little merit which makes it all worthwhile.

Drawing for the majority of the year with a Staedtler pigment liner (0.05mm) then latterly with a COPIC Multiliner (0.01-0.05mm). Recently making more use of the Faber-Castell clutch pen which always travels in the paint box. The constants in the equation, as usual, are the Winsor & Newton A6 170gsm/80lb sketch books, the Winsor & Newton artist quality watercolours and the Koi water brush -the most compact available with a medium brush. I have only needed to refresh about half a dozen of the half pans and perhaps a similar number of pigment pens over the year. There are the sketch books of course but by far the greatest overhead as always is the cost of the Americanos!

It was hard selecting the one sketch from each book to display -maybe further pictures with alternative selections?

YES DO USE THE ALBUMS TAB to navigate the collection which includes over 420 pictures from 2013 across 9 sketchbooks. Posting everything regardless of merit and never taking longer than an hour means that many are a bit rubbish -a few however are worth a click.

Most of the years work was drawn with a B lead in a Faber-Castell clutch pencil or on occasion a Staedtler pigment liner (0.05mm) pen. Portraits use treasured Winsor & Newton field brushes (if only I knew where I could get replacements?). The constants in the equation are the Winsor & Newton A6 170gsm/80lb sketch books, Winsor & Newton artist quality watercolours and the Koi water brush -the most compact available with a medium brush. Some refresh of about half a dozen of the half pans and a few leads and pens over the year. There are the sketch books of course but by far the greatest overhead as always is the cost of the Americanos!

Use the ALBUMS menu to navigate the collection which in 2014 increased by 542 with the addition of the 11 sketchbooks pictured above plus scraps of paper in meetings drawn with a biro. Continuing to post everything regardless of merit and never taking longer than an hour means that most are a bit rubbish -a few by chance are maybe worth a click.

All of the years work was drawn with a B lead in a Faber-Castell clutch pencil. Portraits sometimes employ Winsor & Newton field brushes (metal sheathed and no longer available) and/or a Pro-Arte Prolene Plus field round brush. The constants in the equation are the Winsor & Newton A6 170gsm/80lb sketch books, Winsor & Newton artist quality watercolours and the Sakura Koi water brush -the most compact available with a medium brush. Some refresh of about half a dozen of the half pans (a few more of which have been squeezed in to make 39) the sketchbooks and a few leads and pens but the Americanos are the biggest overhead!

Use the ALBUMS menu to navigate the collection which in 2015 increased by 590 with the addition of the 13 sketchbooks pictured above plus the usual scraps of paper in meetings drawn with a biro. Continuing to post everything regardless of merit and never taking longer than an hour means that most are a bit rubbish -a few by chance are worth a click.

All of the years work was again drawn with a B lead in a Faber-Castell clutch pencil. Portraits are mostly painted with a Pro-Arte Prolene Plus field round brush with support from Winsor & Newton field brushes (metal sheathed and no longer available).

The constants in the equation are Winsor & Newton A6 170gsm/80lb sketch books, Winsor & Newton artist quality watercolours and a further years service from a medium Sakura Koi water brush.

Some refresh of about half a dozen of the half pans (plus 5 more squeezed in to make 44!). Last but not least is a box of HB leads and a replacement clutch pencil (one went missing in Sandwich) -the Americanos as ever remain the greatest overhead.

Bar the yearly photograph of sketchbooks and one from January 2015 all the 'photos' here are of hand made sketches and a growing collection of table top 'sculptures'.

Use the Albums menu to navigate the collection which in 2016 increased by 637 with the addition of the contents of the 13 sketchbooks above. Posting everything regardless of merit and never taking longer than an hour means that many are a bit rubbish.

All the years work was drawn with a B lead in a Faber-Castell clutch pencil. Portraits are sometimes painted with a Pro-Arte Prolene Plus field round brush with support from Winsor & Newton field brushes (metal sheathed and no longer available).

The constants in the equation are Winsor & Newton A6 170gsm/80lb sketch books, 'artist quality' watercolours and a further years service from a medium Sakura Koi water brush. With a few new half pans and a box of HB leads -the Americanos as ever remain the greatest overhead.
