The Lighthouse is 53’ high, and sits on a cliff 220’ above the ocean, but the big splash in the center of this photograph - which appears to almost reach the bottom of the lighthouse - is only about half the distance from the camera to the lighthouse, meaning it’s only about half as high as it appears, still over ~100’ just not the 220’ (at normal tide) of the cliff below the lighthouse. See the screenshot in first comment below. Although the swells were forecast to be 10’ their wide spacing made them appear much smaller, and there were often periods of 2-3 minutes between waves and splashes where the ocean appeared almost flat, and had one wondering if the show was over. According to Turtles surf-forecast•com the tide was ~ +9’ with swells of 10’ almost identical to the conditions on Jan 11, but there were less than a handful of photographers here on this day, versus the shoulder to shoulder group that was here in January.
