This is an image of the gigantic Eureka Dunes as seen from the Last Chance Mountains, the morning after a rain storm. We were hoping to find flowers at the mountains, which looked purple from a mile away. However, the color came from rocks, not flowers, to our disappointment. This shot is a consolation prize, and probably has not appeared on flickr before now. Hope you find it interesting!
Thanks,
Dave

A scene from the temblor mountains near Carrizo NM. The purple lupine is a complementary color to yellow, so the composition becomes easy during a decent spring bloom.
