A brand new horizontal beam is in place on the SR 410 White River Bridge between Enumclaw and Buckley.

The new beam replaces one that was damaged when it was struck by an over-height load in April 2015.

The beam will be welded to the vertical beams on other side and the diagonal braces above it so permanently repair the bridge.

A worker inspects the temporary support structure above the beam on the White River Bridge that was damaged when an over-height load struck it. The temporary support structure is critical in allowing workers to complete repairs on the bridge.

Look closely and you'll see that a significant chunk of the horizontal beam on the SR 410 White River Bridge between Enumclaw and Buckley is missing.

Contractors cut it away in chunks in April 2016. That horizontal beam is actually known as a horizontal sway frame.

It was badly damaged when an over-height load struck it in April 2015.'

To permanently repair the bridge, that horizontal beam will be replaced with a new one and welded onto the diagonal beams above it.
