This stretch of SR 500 is marked by long pavement patches applied by maintenance crews to stave off deterioration. There are only so many times this can be done. In the summer of 2016, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will repair and resurface 11 miles of the highway between Vancouver and Camas. More information is available on the project webpage, www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/sr500/162ndto3rdchipsealph1/.

If you do, plan for delays of up to 20 minutes while our contractor crews repair and resurface damaged pavement along an 11 mile stretch to remove cracks, ruts and potholes that mark the highway. The first step is to grind out the severely damaged portions and add new asphalt. The work will be complete by early August. You can read more about the project here: 1.usa.gov/2962RWT
