The weight of heavy traffic coupled with an unusually cold wet winter caused damage to the pavement on the North Fork Lewis River Bridge on southbound I-5 near Woodland. Contractor crews removed the aged layer of pavement. Then they will replace expansion joints on the bridge, install a new waterproof membrane, apply new pavement markings and resurface the bridge deck.
