Following culvert improvements in Schoolyard Creek in fall 2019, which runs under SR 530 near Trafton, crews noticed this fish already making use of the improved habitat to swim upstream.

Soon after completing the new culvert through Schoolyard Creek under SR 530, crews spotted a fish inside the new culvert and improved habitat running under the highway.

Following culvert installation, crews do landscaping work to put in native plants to help return the area around Schoolyard Creek and SR 530 to its natural state.
