Contractor crews from Peterson Brothers will upgrade three-cable barrier in the median on a section of SR 539/The Guide to four-cable barrier during a spring 2018 project. The four-cable barrier has a lower bottom and an added top cable to help prevent cross over crashes. This section is part of a 3.97 mile stretch on SR 539/The Guide Meridian from just north of Ten Mile Road to north of the Nooksack River, just south of Lynden (mileposts 6.07 to 10.04).
