In early January 2024, workers set concrete girders on a new bridge that will carry eastbound US 12 over a stream between Montesano and Elma. The bridge will replace a culvert that blocks fish passage in the stream that flows to Wenzel Slough. This is the first of four locations that will have new bridge structures as part of the project. At the fifth site, located on SR 8 east of McCleary, we are installing a large box culvert. The project is on schedule to be complete by the end of 2025.
