Happy New Year!

I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season.

I've been spending my time organizing my hard drives and revising some unreleased works. I'm planning to gradually release them throughout 2025, so I hope you'll look forward to them.

I also started a YouTube channel last year, but I lost momentum in the latter half and wasn't able to create many videos. I have plenty of video ideas, but unfortunately, creating YouTube videos is time-consuming. However, I'm aiming to upload at least one video per month in 2025, so please stay tuned.

That being said, I don't intend to become a full-time YouTuber. My main focus is on creating my own work as an artist.

At the same time, I'm planning to be more proactive in teaching my techniques and artistic approach to young people and those who are just starting out in monochrome fine art.

So, everyone,

Enjoy your holidays, recharge your batteries, and let's make 2025 a fantastic year!

Happy Holidays!

This bridge, though not particularly famous, is located in the somewhat downtown area of Tokyo. It's called the Goshiki Zakura Bridge, a little-known gem, especially beautiful when illuminated at night.
Bridges are excellent subjects for long-exposure photography during the day.

This photo was taken using a PC-E 24mm shift lens. I captured the upper part for 5 minutes and the lower part for another 5 minutes, resulting in a 10-minute long exposure. Afterwards, I stitched the upper and lower sections together in Photoshop to create a single image.
The recommended time for shooting is in the morning, especially early in the morning when the reflections on the water's surface are captured beautifully.
Oblique light also has the effect of making photographs dramatic, so I wanted to take the shot before the light came directly overhead.
Incidentally, there's also a panoramic version of this photo, but I'll share that another time.

This is a photograph I took during the long-exposure photography workshop I hosted last month.
The sunlight was quite harsh, being a bit too bright, but I managed to capture some shots, much to my relief.
Although participants struggled with the strong light, they seemed to enjoy the experience of long-exposure photography.
I plan to hold more workshops in the future, so please join us, both in-person and online.

Cocoon Tower in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

When you see my gallery you will notice my typical pattern of compositions: adding reflections.
I love reflections and always try to find one that reflects a main subject.
There is a glass, there is a reflection.
Next time when you go to a city, please find reflections and try to make a composition with them.

This is the video on how I find a composition in a city.

Besides B&W fine art architectural photography, I love waterfalls and have kept shooting since I started photography.

The waterfall is very suitable for fine art photography since the water is white and the rocks are black, hence they can make great Black and white fine art photography.

If you want to know more about the post process of the image,
please check my recent YouTube videos.
