R Tower sat in East Pittsburgh, PA, controlling a four track crossover. This was where traffic patterns returned to 'normal' after passing through Pitcairn - R did the opposite of what CP Tower did to the east. The eastbound Aerotrain rockets by R Tower in the mid 1950s, passing through the interlocking and under the iconic Westinghouse Bridge. R would survive until the early 70s, when it and its eastbound counterpart CP would be taken out of service.

It's a full house at MO interlocking at Cresson, PA! A westbound led by GP38 PC 7884 is seen passing another westbound, as well as an eastbound traversing around MO Tower. Looks like the westbound here has a pretty varied consist. This is, of course, shot off the old flyover bridge that is long gone.

The next shot in our series shows our train having crossed over at JACKS RUN at Bellevue, PA. Jacks Run is the name of a stream that empties into the nearby Ohio River. The tower at JACKS RUN controlled crossovers here as well as the nearby Jacks Run Yard. The somewhat obscure location made this tower a tough one to photograph. Today CP BELL stands at this location, the name of the interlocking being changed under Conrail when they changed the names of some of the Pittsburgh Division towers in the late 70s. The train from the previous shot is seen stopped at the eastbound home signal.
