This pleasant view of Kings Norton station has a good view of the Menzies newspaper stall, a gas lamp and a milepost.
What surprised me was the class 101 with an all yellow cab, I did not know they existed. Sadly, it is not possible to make out the number as the shutter speed was just too low to freeze the movement, I have tried every trick to make it readable, I think the last figure is 8. I have the excellent RCTS book "DMUs in colour", in the text it states a few units were treated to this style but soon reverted to just the front as far as the cab doors. This could be quite a rare picture.
Oh I wish it was sharper and in colour.
If anyone can shed more light on this class 101 I would be very pleased. Railcar has a picture of one, more head on and also with no ID.

A pair of wooden "gate" cars comprise this outbound Chicago Rapid Transit train on the Met L, no date but looks like 1950's. Note the billboard on the adjacent building roof.

Kelley Park in San Jose CA brings together a unique mix of relocated and replica historic buildings, and a working trolley line, to help tell the story of the City's early history. For many years the park employed master trolley restorer Fred Bennett, whose craftsmanship helped bring several "chicken coops" (including this San Jose Railways Birney car) back to life as working trolleys.
Here's an old 1984 video on the Kelley Park trolley story, Fred Bennett appears starting at the 13:50 mark: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTbnD4B8_MQ

Well, beautiful stonework rather, but that didn't alliterate. Gorgeous clarity in this Lawrence Royal Plate, so plenty of shops/shopkeepers/news posters to keep ye all occupied.
